If you live in Saskatchewan and had a ticket on last night's LOTTO 6/49 draw, check it! There was only one ticket in Canada that correctly matched the six main numbers drawn - 12, 13, 15, 32, 40 and 43 - and that ticket was sold in Saskatchewan. The lucky ticket wins the entire LOTTO 6/49 Jackpot amount of $14,657,423.00!
Lottery officials do not release the exact sales location of winning tickets until the prize is claimed. They have confirmed, however, that the ticket was sold outside of the Province's two major cities of Regina and Saskatoon.
"We're excited that a very large Jackpot is coming to Saskatchewan," commented John Matheson, spokesperson for the Western Canada Lottery Corporation (WCLC). "Together with Saskatchewan Lotteries, we're looking forward to the winner, or winners, contacting us and coming forward to claim the prize."
The holder of the $14.6 Million winning ticket should call lottery officials at 1-800-665-3313, a number listed on the back of all lottery tickets, to make arrangements to claim the windfall. Most players claim their prizes within a week of the draw date, although winners have a full year to present their winning tickets.
Last night's Jackpot represents the second largest lottery prize won in Saskatchewan. It is only surpassed by a $16,648,248.30 windfall from the April 19, 1996 SUPER 7 draw. That prize was claimed by a construction worker from the small town of Sheho.
In Saskatchewan, lottery proceeds support more than 12,000 non-profit
sport, culture, recreation and community groups.
